The first public beta version of Google’s new Android 11 operating system was introduced this week, hinting at what new features will soon be part of smartphones.
This beta version can be installed on the Google Pixel 2 or the new Google Pixel phones.
Google usually introduces a new Android operating system in the last quarter of the year and is usually the first to be part of the new Pixel phones.
Every year new additions are made to the Android system and this time will be the same.
A report by CNet has mentioned 5 key features in the first public beta version, which will be part of the smartphones this year.
Quick controls
In this new Android system, a short press on the power button will bring up a new Quick Controls screen, which will provide more power control options.
It will also have quick controls for smart home devices, while custom controls can be added or removed by clicking on the menu.
The messaging bubble
This message was previously thought to be part of Android 10, but Google didn’t introduce it at the last minute last year and now it’s coming to Android 11.
This feature will be similar to Facebook Messenger’s Chat Heads feature, which when activated will show a small bubble on the screen whatever or which app you are using.
On clicking on this bubble, a small window will open, in which the user can read and send new messages, that is, there is no need to open the app, while this bubble can be dragged anywhere on the screen at will. Like head chat, it can be removed by moving it to the bottom of the screen.
Currently in beta version, Bubbles Message currently supports Facebook Messenger and it is likely that it will work with other apps when this operating system is introduced.
To disable bubbles on a chat in the app there will be a small bubble notification in the bottom right corner, clicking on it will instantly disable the bubbles feature for that thread.
App Suggestions
Right now the app drawer in Android makes suggestions of apps that it thinks the user might want to use, depending on the time of day and other mysterious factors.
But the Android 11 app suggestions row will be visible in the main app dock on the home screen.
These apps will have a glowing border around them and the apps will change whenever the user uses the phone on the home screen, while a short press on any app will allow you to pin it as your suggestion to the home screen.
Similarly, it will be possible to block those apps, which the user does not want to see in the suggestions.
Better music controls than ever
Google is introducing a new Music Controls interface in Android 11 and it’s on the Quick Settings panel, mentioned above.
When using this interface a new music control option will appear.
Built-in screen recorder
The screenshots feature for what’s on the screen has been around for a long time, but there are times when recording is better.
For example when you want to show off your gaming prowess or others.
This new feature will also be present in the Quick Settings panel.
