The Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation and Moroccans Abroad, Nasser Bourita and the Minister of State for the Middle East, North Africa, South Asia and the United Nations of United Kingdom, Great Britain and Northern Ireland, Lord Ahmad of Wimbledon, co-chaired, Tuesday in Rabat, the 4th session of the Strategic Dialogue between the two countries.
This Strategic Dialogue was launched in London on July 5, 2018, with the aim of consolidating the historical ties between the two Kingdoms and continuing to strengthen bilateral relations.
It revolves around four structuring themes, namely, the political and diplomatic component, security cooperation, economic cooperation and cultural cooperation and that in education.
Working groups have been established under each pillar of cooperation aimed at strengthening exchanges and consultation on priority bilateral issues and identifying new prospects for cooperation in these areas.
The 2nd session of the Strategic Dialogue took place in Rabat on September 17, 2019, which resulted in the identification of strategic issues in bilateral relations. The 3rd was held in London on December 8, 2021, under the chairmanship of Mr. Bourita and his British counterpart Elisabeth Truss.
During this session of the Strategic Dialogue, the two ministers agreed to strengthen political dialogue, deepen economic relations and security cooperation and promote human and cultural ties. They also reaffirmed their common vision for the establishment of a strategic partnership between the two countries.
This 4th session of the Strategic Dialogue, in addition to allowing the strengthening of the strategic partnership between the two countries, made it possible to note the common commitments to support sustainable agriculture and food security in Africa.
