49-year-old killed in Vienna – Accused had been harboring plans for some time

As a spokesman for the regional court confirmed to the APA a report in the free newspaper “Heute”, her accused partner stated that his partner had “looked at other men”.

The 39-year-old had apparently harbored killing intentions against his partner for some time and had even confided his fantasies to a friend. Immediately after the crime, he even called that friend and told him that he had just strangled his partner, the newspaper reported, citing the accused’s lawyers and his statements during his interrogation.

Perpetrator confesses

The 39-year-old has admitted all charges and has been in custody since Tuesday. A report commissioned by the Vienna public prosecutor’s office is intended to clarify questions about his mental state. The public prosecutor’s office is conducting a murder investigation against him.

After the 39-year-old made an emergency call, officers from the Favoriten city police command visited his apartment on the fifth floor of an apartment building on Columbusgasse at around 9:30 a.m. on Sunday. There they found the Austrian and his lifeless girlfriend and immediately called the emergency services. An emergency doctor could only confirm the woman’s death. The Austrian was subsequently arrested.
