POLICE are investigating an online gambling (judol) case involving employees of the Ministry of Communications and Digital (Komdigi). The police are currently proposing to block dozens of accounts belonging to the suspects.
“Investigators have also proposed blocking 47 accounts belonging to the suspects and are currently taking an inventory of online gambling website accounts for further blocking,” said Head of Public Relations of Polda Metro Jaya Kombes Ade Ary Syam Indradi to journalists, on Friday (8/11).
Ade Ary said the police were still carrying out a series of in-depth investigations regarding the case. The police are also still investigating the possibility of other perpetrators.
“Investigators will continue to intensively carry out investigations to arrest other perpetrators and also confiscate other evidence,” he said.
It is known that the police have also confiscated a number of pieces of evidence in the online gambling case. The evidence includes money worth IDR 73.7 billion.
“There is cash amounting to IDR 73,723,488,957,” he said.
Ade Ary detailed that the money worth IDR 73.7 billion that was confiscated was in the form of rupiah, United States dollars (USD) and Singapore dollars (SGD).
Apart from that, the police also confiscated 215 grams of precious metals, firearms, 20 paintings and a number of other pieces of evidence. Until now, the police are still carrying out a series of investigations regarding this case.
“Of the 15 suspects, investigators have confiscated various types of evidence, including 34 cellphones, 23 laptops, 20 paintings, 16 cars, 16 monitors, 11 luxury watches, 4 tablets, 4 buildings, “2 units of firearms, then 1 unit of motorbike, then 215.5 grams of precious metals,” he explained.
