42nd Arab Amateur and Professional Golf Championships: Hosted by The Royal Moroccan Golf Federation and Arab Golf Federation

The Royal Moroccan Golf Federation (FRMG), chaired by Prince Moulay Rachid, is co-organizing with the Arab Golf Federation (AGF), in partnership with the Royal & Ancient (R&A), the 42nd edition of the Arab Amateur Golf Championships which will take place from July 27 to 29 on the Casa Green Golf course, as well as the 1st Professional Arab Championships, from August 1 to 4 on the same course.

These two regional amateur and professional competitions will see the participation of Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Egypt, United Arab Emirates, Iraq, Kuwait, Lebanon, Libya, Oman, Palestine, Qatar, Tunisia as well as Morocco. The latter had won the amateur title last December at home at the Golf de la Cigale in Tabarka, indicates the FRMG.

They will also promote the talent of Arab players, promote cultural exchanges and strengthen ties within the sports community.

On this occasion, Me Mustapha Zine, 1st Vice-President of the FRMG and Vice-President of the AGF, confirmed that the federation, under the chairmanship of Moulay Rachid, “gives paramount importance to the collaboration with the AGF for the development of golf in the Arab worldwelcoming this meeting “which is a true celebration of our culture and the values ​​of golf, all in a favorable sporting context”.

For his part, Majed Al Sorour, Secretary General of the AGF, assured that this structure “is proud to organize the 42nd Arab Championship and the 1st professional Arab Championship in this magnificent country of Morocco (…)”, noting that “Hosting the first Arab Professional Championship is another step to boost the level of competitiveness among elite Arab players and provide important pathways for players capable of representing the region on the world stage.”

These two competitions offer a unique opportunity for Arab golfers to compete at the highest level, for his part indicated Jalil Benazzouz, President of the Organizing Committee of these championships, affirming that the first edition of the Arab Professional Championship is an entry point for Arab professional golf and that he was proud to be among the first contributors.

Note that on the sidelines of this competition, the results of Moroccan participants will count for the Moroccan Pro and Elite Championships 2023.
