Warehouse421, the arts and design destination in Abu Dhabi, which showcases and develops local and regional talent across the region, has announced a winter film program in partnership with Cinema Akil, under the title “Personal Geographies.”
The program will carry a variety of films, starting next March 2, with Elia Suleiman’s movie “If You Desire As In Heaven” and “Ya Uncle Chevour” directed by Baya Muzaffar. The program will continue with the film “Their Algeria” by Lina Sweilem, and “The Return of Osiris” by Issa Gharib on March 23, and in addition to the film program, Exhibition 421 will open the exhibitions “Language is an Immigrant” and “Out of Scope” on February 27. The latest series of nomadic cinema programs by Cinema Akil and the twelfth season of its partnership with Warehouse421, the film program of the exhibition “Language is Migrant”, evaluated by Anushka Rajendran and Artistic Director Natasha Ginwala, and held at Warehouse421, which represents a mobile version of the 7th Columbusscope Festival, a Sri Lankan platform for arts Contemporary and Interdisciplinary Dialogue.
As a product of the exhibitions’ artistic development programme, artist Ammar Al-Attar presents the exhibition “Out of Scope”, in which he presents a new collection of performance and video works of a dynamic and interactive nature, exploring tools that embody the written work of daily tasks.
Warehouse421 will host a mobile version of the 7th Columbuscoop Festival entitled “Language is Migrant”, featuring works from the Enterprise Support Fund launched by Warehouse421 in 2020.
