4:1 against Donau Linz: New signing Schmidt scores for Blau-Weiß for the first time

The curse of FC Blau-Weiß Linz’s friendly matches has been broken. After the recent abandonments once morest regional league team Wallern (following 80 minutes) and second league club Admira (following 38 minutes) due to bad weather, coach Gerald Scheiblehner’s team was able to enjoy today’s short-notice friendly once morest regional league team Donau Linz for the full 90 minutes.

“The most important thing was that we were able to play a 90-minute game to hone our processes,” said BW coach Scheiblehner following the 4-1 win once morest Kleinmünchen. His only criticism: “We created a lot of chances and should have scored more goals.”

He was able to celebrate the first goals from a new signing: Alexander Schmidt made his debut in the Royal Blues’ jersey with two goals. Simon Seidl scored the other two goals, and Julian Peherstorfer scored the consolation goal for the lower house team. Another positive: Lucas Dantas returned to the pitch following an injury break – the Brazilian played in the blue and white midfield center in the first half.

After the break, Scheiblehner took a close look at the legs of a test player: 20-year-old defender Aristot Tambwe-Kasengele from Rapid Vienna is currently in Linz, completing a trial training session. Sports director Christoph Schösswendter cannot yet confirm that the defender will be signed permanently on loan: “He is now training with us for a week. We are taking the opportunity to take a closer look at him.”

This is how Blau-Weiß Linz played:

Luxe (46. Aineter); Schantl (65. Canada), Tursch (60. Maranda), Mitrovic (46. Kasengele), Ibertsberger (60. Pirkl); Gölles, Dantas (46. Pasic), Dobras (46. Briedl); Seidl, Schmidt (60. Ronivaldo), Ibrahimi (60. Noß)
