Strasbourg (ots) – The prizes of the 40th Munich Film Festival have been awarded. ARTE is delighted to have received six awards, including the renowned ARRI Award for the ARTE co-production “Les Filles d’Olfa” (Four Daughters) as best international film, the audience award for “Fallen Leaves” by Aki Kaurismäki, as well as three prizes in the “New German Cinema” section for director Sylvie Michel of “More Than Strangers”, producer Uschi Fidges for the drama “Leere Netze” and screenwriter Merle Grimm for “Clashing Differences”. The Bernd Burgemeister Television Award for Outstanding Production Achievements went to Christian Becker and Martin Richter from Ratpack Filmproduktion for the abuse drama “Wir haben ein Deal”. The ARTE co-production “And The King said, what a Fantastic Machine” received an honorable mention at the Cinekindl Awards. ARTE was represented with a total of 27 co-productions at the 40th Munich Film Festival.
