The General Secretariat of Mental Health and Addiction Treatment revealed the latest statistics carried out by the Secretariat, since the launch of its electronic platform for mental health and addiction treatment on March 15th.
She explained that the number of visitors to the platform’s website reached 40,936, an increase of 2,086 from last month, and the number of users who registered their data reached 16,415 users, an increase of 763 over last month.
She added that the number of those who took self-requests reached 15,152, an increase of 738 compared to last month, and the number of those who received treatment sessions on the platform reached 2,416, an increase of 340 compared to the previous month.
The results also indicated that the percentage of female users reached 65% compared to 35% of male users, and that the percentage of users’ marital status was 27% for married people compared to 73% for unmarried people, in addition to the fact that most of the non-working users reached 63% compared to 37% for workers Until now.
The statistics also showed that the most age group used for the site is the category of teenagers and young adults, and that the users of the site are from all governorates of the Republic, and most of the users are from Cairo Governorate.
The results of the statistics also indicated that general psychiatry with all its diseases is the most visited by users of the site, followed by child and adolescent psychiatry, followed by addiction, and then elderly psychiatry.
This comes within the framework of the efforts made by the General Secretariat of Mental Health and Addiction Treatment, under the auspices and support of the Ministry of Health and Population, in the field of mental health awareness and providing psychological support services, psychological counseling and addiction treatment to citizens from their places “online” through the platform.
The national electronic platform for mental health and addiction treatment aims to provide free government services for mental health and addiction treatment for all age groups of Egyptians and non-Egyptians residing in Egypt, and it is the first of its kind in the Eastern Mediterranean Region, and it is one of the fruits of cooperation between the General Secretariat of Health Psychological and addiction treatment, the National Information Center at the Ministry of Health and Population, the World Health Organization, and the University of British Columbia in Canada, which are staffed by a group of technical and technical cadres at the Ministry of Health and Population, psychotherapists and international experts in the field of psychiatry and addiction treatment.
