Israel – The Israeli army announced, yesterday, Sunday, that it had monitored the launching of approximately 40 missiles from southern Lebanon towards northern Israel.

A statement issued by the army said: “During the past few hours, about 40 missiles were detected from southern Lebanon, crossing towards the territory of the State of Israel. Some of them were intercepted, without causing casualties.”

He added: “The Israeli army attacked the sources of the shooting.”

The army statement indicated that Israeli aircraft “bombed military buildings and infrastructure belonging to the Lebanese faction movement in the areas of Markaba, Taybeh, Kafr Kila, and Al-Adisa in southern Lebanon.”

For its part, the Lebanese faction movement announced, on Sunday, in separate statements that it had targeted 10 Israeli military sites in the settlements of Kiryat Shmona, Avivim, Shtoula, Kfaryoval, Kfargeladi, and Margaliot, and the sites of Ramia, Zaoura, Malikiyah, and Samaka.

Earlier on Sunday, 3 Lebanese civilians were killed and others wounded, in an Israeli raid on the town of Mays al-Jabal (south), according to the official Lebanese News Agency.

Since October 8, 2023, the Lebanese faction movement and Lebanese and Palestinian factions on the one hand, and the Israeli army on the other hand, have exchanged daily bombardments, resulting in deaths and injuries between both parties.

The Lebanese faction movement and other factions are launching attacks against the Israeli army “in solidarity with the Gaza Strip,” which has been exposed since October 7, 2023 to a devastating Israeli war that has resulted in the death and injury of tens of thousands, most of them children and women, which necessitated Tel Aviv’s appearance before the International Court of Justice for the first time since its founding in 1948. , on charges of “genocide.”
