4-year-old spends the night outside in the wake of Storm Fiona

A 4-year-old child who was reported missing Saturday followingnoon in the wake of Hurricane Fiona in Nova Scotia was finally found Sunday morning.

The Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) reported Sunday that 4-year-old Grady MacKinnon had been missing since 5 p.m. in Springville, a small town near New Glasgow that was swept away by Hurricane Fiona.

Federal police had launched an alert in the Pictou area and surrounding communities in an attempt to locate the missing boy.

The citizens had also been asked to take a tour of their property, in case the child was there.

Significant air and ground resources were also mobilized to find him, including more than 100 people who searched the region throughout the evening and night.

Little Grady was finally found on Sunday morning around 9:50 a.m. local time in a field regarding 2 km from his house.

He was examined by paramedics who checked his condition following spending the night outside when the temperature dropped to around 10 degrees Celsius.
