4 University of Idaho students found dead identified

(CNN)– The four University of Idaho students found dead overnight Sunday in a home near campus have been identified, the Moscow, Idaho, Police Department reported Monday.


The students were Ethan Chapin, 20, of Conway, Wash.; Madison Mogen, 21, of Coeur d’Alene, Idaho; Xana Kernodle, 20, of Avondale, Arizona; and Kaylee GonCalves, 21, of Rathdrum, Idaho.

Moscow police said they are investigating the deaths as homicides. However, he did not provide any other information regarding the events. As of noon Monday, no suspects were in custody. Authorities have asked anyone with information regarding the case to contact police.

“The Moscow Police Department and the city of Moscow are deeply saddened by the families of these individuals, their colleagues and friends, and our community during this time,” the institution said.
