Many people resort to teeth whitening in order to get shiny teeth, but it is preferable to follow some tips to maintain dental health.
In the following report, “Consulto” reviews the most important tips that must be followed after the whitening procedure, according to the website “WebMD”.
Tips to maintain teeth whitening
1- Avoid smoking
People should be careful to avoid smoking completely after teeth whitening, because the tobacco in cigarettes causes a change in the color of the teeth and negatively affects the enamel of the teeth, and then it is difficult to eliminate it by brushing only, in addition, it causes a change in the smell of the mouth.

2- Certain types of foods
Certain types of foods and drinks can affect the shape, discoloration and lack of whitening result, including coffee, soft drinks, fruit juices, berries, and beets, because they cause stains to appear on the teeth and get worse over time.

3- Medicines
Some medications can affect the color of the teeth, such as antibiotics, antihistamines, blood pressure medications, and certain types of nutritional supplements, so you should consult a specialist before starting to take these medications, in order to maintain the whiteness of the teeth.

4- Dental hygiene
Doctors stressed that it is necessary to take care of dental hygiene on a daily basis after the whitening procedure, by washing the teeth twice per day and using dental floss, which helps to keep the teeth clean permanently.
