4 dead students in Moscow in Idaho: arrested 4,000 km away

The case has been causing concern in the United States for a month and a half. Only now has a first suspect been arrested. The police have already published a photo of the alleged killer. This is 28-year-old Bryan Christopher K. Multiple media – including CNN – report that the detainee was studying criminology near the scene of the crime.

His sister is said to live next to the victims. But the suspect was arrested in Pennsylvania.

He was arrested by the Pennsylvania State Police in Monroe County. The arrest location is in the east of the United States, more than 4,000 kilometers from the crime scene in the northwest of the country.

On November 13, four students were found dead in their apartment in Moscow, Idaho. The fatalities are three young women and the boyfriend of one of them. Kaylee Goncalves, Madison Mogen both turned 21, Xana Kernodle and her boyfriend Ethan Chapin turned 20. All four are said to have been stabbed – presumably while they were sleeping at 02:52.

An investigative team drawn from local police, state police and the FBI was quickly mobilized. Around 100 investigators collected evidence. In total, more than 20,000 tips were received.

Fear reigned on the University of Idaho campus following the killings. Many students fled to their parents and only continued their studies in the home office, as far away as possible from the snow-covered city, where police patrols and security measures around the university were increased.

The mayor of Moscow said the day following the killings that it was a “crime of passion” before retracting his testimony.

The next day, police said there was “no danger” because it was an “isolated and targeted” attack, then backed down and became more and more vague.

Four weeks later, police in Moscow were still urging people to leave their homes in groups.

A group was formed in the Reddit network that went to work alongside the authorities as a hobby investigator.
