Located in the San Francisco Bay Area, Two-Way Film Arts Club, UC San Francisco Memory and Aging Research Center, and Alzheimer’s Association Northern California and Northern Nevada Branches held a film appreciation event “Axia’s Wall Clock”. The film is directed by Taiwan’s cutting-edge director Chen Xinyi. It describes the situation of two elderly people who are both patients and caregivers and become marginalized people in society. After the film, there will be a lecture to share tips on caring for relatives and friends with dementia.
Two-way Film and Television Club stated that the voices of the parties in the play “Axia’s Wall Clock” are starring Taiwanese actors Gu Baoming and Tan Aizhen, describing the state of mind of the elderly who are both patients and caregivers. The film is sponsored by the Catholic Dementia Foundation .
Two-Way Films said that when relatives and friends suffering from dementia get lost in the running of the time gear, as a caregiver, how to stabilize the body and mind and fight wits is also an issue that many modern people have to face. At the end of the movie, experts will share tips on caring for relatives and friends with dementia, and discuss how the elderly can avoid social marginalization and age discrimination.
