3×3 World Cup: French Teams Advance to Cleaver Matches for Quarter-Finals

2023-06-03 07:52:00

No NBA last night and no NBA by tomorrow, that leaves room for other basketball modalities this weekend. That’s good, it’s time for the final phase of the 3×3 World Cup, with the two French teams still in the running, both girls and boys.

This Saturday is the big day for the Blues.

Following the group stages, our two French teams begin the cleaver matches. The girls might have qualified directly for the quarter-finals in the event of a victory once morest Austria the other day, but a defeat dropped Les Bleues to second place in their group, synonymous with an eighth (or rather a a play-off match because there are not eight knockout stages on the programme) once morest Italy.

For the boys, the scenario was different in the first round. The Blues have indeed snatched their qualification by finishing only third in their group (balance sheet of one victory for three defeats), and thanks to a very slightly favorable point-average. This is called “going through a mouse hole”. Result, they will face Switzerland to try to get a place in the quarterfinals.

The program of the Blues this Saturday:

  • 1/8 final men: Switzerland – France at 2:25 p.m.
  • 1/8 final women: France – Italy at 3:10 p.m.

Where to look? Live on L’Équipe live 2, rebroadcast at 3:55 p.m. on the L’Équipe channel.

For information : the quarter-finals will take place this evening, in the wake of the eighth.
