Red Bull Racing’s Sergio Perez finished the 2022 F1 Round 5 Miami GP opening day practice on Friday, May 6th, and who lost his running time due to repeated red flags. I expect it to be a very unknown race.
Since his companion Max Verstappen mightn’t run the FP2, Perez was in charge of all the programs, including the long run.
Although it was the fastest long run pace over Ferrari, the road surface was the hottest this season, and due to the influence of the red flag shook twice, the degree of overheating and wear due to continuous laps was completely grasped. I haven’t done it, and I haven’t tried hard tires.
I have a good idea of the qualifying, but the final is …
Sergio PerezFP2: 3 places 1 minute 30 seconds 150 / FP1: 4 places 1 minute 31 seconds 301
I think today was a difficult day for any driver. The followingnoon session was really confusing. I did one medium rap and two soft raps.
When I was driving with fuel, the red flag was waved and I lost time, so I mightn’t do anything regarding it. Basically, everyone is likely to challenge the race with incomplete digestion.
I have a general idea regarding qualifying. However, the weather in this area may change in a blink of an eye.
It’s a shame that even the racing line doesn’t have much grip and feels very heavy, which can make racing difficult, but no one will know their exact position. I think we can expect an interesting race in that sense.
George Russell (Mercedes) closed the first day at the top. He defeated second-placed Charles Leclerc (Ferrari) by a comma of one second. Sergio Perez (Red Bull) followed in 3rd place with a comma 2 seconds behind.
The third free practice of the F1 Miami Grand Prix will be held from 26:00 on Saturday, May 7, Japan time, and the official qualifying will be held at the Miami International Autodrome from 29:00 to 1 hour.
