PT Pelayaran Nasional Indonesia (Persero) or Pelni recorded that 399,806 ship tickets had been sold as of Tuesday or H-1 of Idul Fitri 1445 Hijriah.
This number consists of 293,233 tickets for the homecoming flow (26 March-11 April 2024) and 106,573 tickets for the return flow (12-26 April 2024).
Head of Pelni Company Secretariat, Evan Eryanto, in his statement in Jakarta, Tuesday, detailed that 364,556 tickets had been sold for passenger ships and 35,250 tickets for pioneer ships.
“The homecoming transportation period by Pelni ship takes place from March 26 to April 26 2024,” he said.
Pelni noted that during the Eid 2024 homecoming flow, the five busiest sections were the Batam-Belawan section with 15,663 passengers, Belawan-Batam (13,288 passengers), Kumai-Semarang (11,718 passengers), Balikpapan-Surabaya (10,588 passengers), and Makassar- Surabaya (9,154 passengers).
Next, the five busiest departure ports for the 2024 homecoming flow period are Makassar (33,119 passengers), Balikpapan (28,044 passengers), Ambon (24,343 passengers), Batam (22,735 passengers), and Tanjung Priok (18,992 passengers).

Pelni has also made every effort to keep all its ships on schedule at every port they stop at.
This effort was made to ensure that all passengers could arrive and celebrate Eid al-Fitr 1445 Hijriah in their respective hometowns with their families.
Evan also appealed to prospective passengers to purchase ship tickets through several official channels such as the Pelni Mobile application, the official website pelni.co.id, the Pelni 162 call center, branch office counters and partners who have collaborated with Pelni.
Pelni has also added ticket sales channels, namely through Mandiri Livin’ Sukha and BCA Mobile, said Evan. (Z-8)
