“Normally, they were percentages between 25 and 31 percent in terms of resignations, it shot up a bit in 2021, but this year we are at 38 and 39 percent according to what we have measured, it is high, but as Two people are designated per table, we are fine because there are many volunteers and we believe that we are not going to have problems forming them,” Fernández explained in a dialogue with radio Continental Cordoba.

He also specified that, in accordance with current regulations, the first provisional results may be disseminated following 9:00 p.m. Although he clarified that in the case of the Córdoba district, there will be 31 paper ballots in the dark room, so there are no estimates regarding of the final schedule of the provisional scrutiny.

Fernández also commented that a count simulation was carried out this Tuesday in Córdoba with different cuts of ballots, which demanded almost two hours of work.

“We worked on the training with the table authorities, we hope it will not be delayed, although there may be some complication,” he warned regarding the counting time given the variety of political options that the electorate will have.

Regarding the sanctions for those who do not go to vote, Fernández confirmed that it will be a fine of 50 pesos, but warned that there are other non-economic penalties.

“We have these fines since 2017, obviously we would prefer that their amounts be updated, but beyond this it must be said that voting is not just a right, it is a duty, a duty and the opportunity to choose,” he said.

“They should also know that there are other consequences for not voting. A registry of offenders is generated and it can be difficult for them to obtain a service, a passport, if this situation is not regularized, ”he specified.
