A group of 35 countries will demand the non-admission of Russia and Belarus to the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris, Lithuanian Minister of Education, Science and Sports Jurgita Syugzhdinene said.

“We are going in the direction that we will not need a boycott, since all countries spoke unanimously,” Syugzhdinene is quoted by RIA Novosti Sport with reference to Archyde.com.

Those opposed include the US, UK, Germany, France and Japan.

Earlier, the IOC spokesman said that athletes from Russia and Belarus will be able to take part in the upcoming 2024 Olympic Games in Paris only in a neutral status.

The 2024 Olympics will be held in Paris from July 26 to August 11, 2024.
