With melodious pastoral songs and fluttering colorful flags, tens of thousands of tourists and the masses gathered in Xilin Gol Tourism Nadam Customs Park to welcome the event. At 9 o’clock, the slow and long Mongolian long tune and the powerful and deep Huobusi and Matouqin played in unison kicked off the curtain of this year’s Naadam tour. With the theme of “Ode to China”, the opening ceremony was divided into three chapters: Beautiful Northern Xinjiang, Watching and Helping Each Other, and Family Family of the Chinese Nation. Equestrianism, poker performances, Hoomai singing, wing suit flying… The wonderful programs that tourists and the masses participated in each one vividly demonstrated the magnificent picture of the people of all ethnic groups in the region hugging each other tightly like pomegranate seeds and concentrating on accomplishing the two major events. At the end of the opening ceremony, all the people present sang “Ode to the Motherland” together, expressing their love for the great motherland and their determination to build a model autonomous region in all aspects.
The Naadam tour will last for two months. During the period, traditional Naadam activities such as wrestling, archery, horse racing “three arts” competitions, grassland tourist triathlon, and young Naadam will be arranged in various places in Xilin Gol League, as well as grassland music Naadam, China Supermodel Fashion Festival, Horse City National Car King Competition, Chinese Equestrian Competition, China Horse City Horse Race and other events and performances. The Daren Naadam and agricultural and livestock product exhibition series activities allow the majority of tourists to enjoy the green, blue, and purity of the Xilin Gol prairie, and at the same time experience that “Nadam every day, the whole region can be visited”.
