THE Murung Raya Regency Government (Pemkab), Central Kalimantan, opened posts and public kitchens at a number of points to help victims affected by the flood.
Several post points and public kitchens run by the Murung Raya Regency Government are spread across several sub-district areas, namely Seribu Riam District (post and public kitchen), Head Office (Rujab) Head of Muara Joloi I Residents’ House, Muara Joloi II Residents’ House. In Sumber Barito District (post and public kitchen) Tumbang Kunyi Village, home page of RT 03 Tumbang Molut Village, Tumbang Molut Elementary School yard Permata Intan District (post and public kitchen) Tumbang Lahung Village, Rujab yard Muara Bakanon Village Head, Muara Bakanon Harbor .
“In Murung District (post and public kitchen) Main Post at Murung Raya BPBD Office. “Public kitchens are also located at the Murung District Office, Al Manar mosque, At Taqwa mosque, Al Jihad mosque, As Sallam mosque, Danau Usung Village, Batu Putih Village, Bahitom Village, and Mangkahui Village Office,” said the Chief Executive of the Disaster Management and Fire Agency. Central Kalimantan Fire (BPBPK), Ahmad Toyib, when handing over logistical assistance from the Central Kalimantan Provincial Government to the Murung Raya Regency Government, in Murung Raya Regency, Wednesday (23/10).

He explained that the Murung Raya Regency Government has also established health posts in Murung District, namely in the courtyard of the BPBD Office, Al Manar mosque, At Taqwa mosque, Al Istiqlal Grand mosque in front of Bahitom Market.
Toyib also encouraged and appealed to the sub-district heads in the six sub-districts affected by the flood, to order every village head or sub-district head to open and implement a public kitchen to help with ready-to-eat food for the people affected by the flood.
As well as supplying logistics for public kitchen needs by BPBD Murung Raya Regency, distributing ready-to-eat food to communities affected by flooding, and supplying clean water to public kitchen points.
“I invite us all to pray that this flood will recede soon, and people can return to their normal activities as usual,” he concluded.
Previously, floods submerged 33 sub-districts in six sub-districts in Murung Regency since 15 October. The flood also submerged six sub-districts in four sub-districts in Barito Regency. Apart from that, floods also inundated a village in Pulang Pisau Regency. A total of 2,320 people from 1,351 families were affected by this disaster. (SS/J-3)
