PT Kereta Api Indonesia (KAI) diverted the departure and arrival routes of 32 long-distance trains (KAJJ) from Gambir Station to Jatinegara Station, Jakarta, during the inauguration of President and Vice President-Elect Prabowo Subianto and Gibran Rakabuming Raka, on October 20 2024.

“The engineering arrangements for train operations, including 27 long-distance train departures and five long-distance train arrivals at Gambir Station, were stopped at Jatinegara Station for the process of boarding and disembarking passengers,” said PT KAI Vice President Anne in a statement in Jakarta, Friday.

This step was taken to anticipate delays for train service users to Gambir Station, due to diversion of traffic flow on a number of highways towards the Gambir Station area during the 2024 presidential inauguration.

Apart from engineering KAJJ’s operational patterns, KAI through KAI Commuter is also carrying out additional Commuterline trips ahead of the President-Vice President’s inauguration for the 2024-2029 period.

“This was done as an effort to anticipate a surge in passengers who wanted to witness the inauguration of President-Elect Prabowo Subianto and Vice President-Elect Gibran Rakabuming Raka on October 20 2024,” said Anne.

Anne explained that on Saturday-Sunday (19-20) October, KAI Commuter will operate the Commuterline trip operating pattern service referring to the weekday operating pattern with 1,048 trips.

KAI also collaborates with Polda Metro to secure stations in Jakarta. In total there are 152 security personnel who will secure the JJ Train Station, consisting of 82 from KAI and 70 from Polda Metro.

“Extra security personnel are also on standby at several Jabodebek Commuterline and LRT stations such as Sudirman, Gondangdia, Palmerah, Tanah Abang, Manggarai and Dukuh Atas,” he said.

As part of the series of inauguration events for the President and Vice President, KAI will operate 364 Jabodebek LRT trips, an increase from the previous 260 trips.

This is to anticipate increased community mobilization in the corridor between Harjamukti/Jatimulya-Cawang-Dukuh Atas.

“With a headway of 11 minutes on the Jatimulya/Harjamukti-Cawang route, and 5 minutes on the Cawang-Dukuh Atas route, KAI ensures smoother mobility for people, especially those heading to the Partai Rakyat area around Jl Sudirman, Jl Thamrin and Jl Merdeka Barat. said Anne again.

Anne hopes that the inauguration of the President and Vice President Elect for 2024-2029 can take place safely and smoothly. He said that this moment was an important symbol in Indonesia’s democratic journey.

He appealed to all train and commuterline passengers in Jakarta to continue to prioritize safety aspects.

Apart from that, all people who will attend the inauguration of the President and Vice President are also advised to always create a harmonious atmosphere, respect each other and maintain mutual security.
