317 civilians killed in three months, according to Minusma

The United Nations Mission in Mali (Minusma) published its quarterly report on human rights abuses on Wednesday, for the period from April 1 to June 30, 2022. Some 682 security incidents recorded in three months, 317 civilians killed and 73 kidnapped or missing. According to the UN report, jihadist terrorist groups are the main perpetrators. The Malian army and self-defense groups are also singled out.

Jihadist groups, namely the Sahelian branch of the Islamic State group and the various components of Jnim, the Support Group for Islam and Muslims, linked to al-Qaeda, are responsible for 64% of the victims between April and June 2022 The Malian armed forces by 26%.

Reduced violence by the Malian army
