Shop window for the 30th anniversary: “30 years of Dorotheergasse”

In the newly designed 30th anniversary showcase, which is being presented as part of this special occasion, there is an exhibit from the inaugural exhibition “Teitelbaum lived here”. The idea of the exhibition emphasized that Vienna does not fundamentally have its own Jewish history, but that the city’s Jewish history is also the city’s history – a basic attitude that the Jewish Museum Vienna still stands for today. The exhibition featured objects from different eras that located the past of Vienna’s Jewish population on the city map. A specially made floor covering with city map sections served as a visual representation, and the objects not only conveyed spatial information, but also provided a compressed overview of the cultural history of the entire city. The exhibition was curated by Felicitas Heimann-Jelinek and designed by architect Martin Kohlbauer.

On the open day, visitors receive annual tickets for the Jewish Museum Vienna at a 30% discount at a price of 27.30 euros (instead of 39 euros) or 16.80 euros (instead of 24 euros / 19 – 27 years, presence/ Civil servants, people with disabilities; purchase only with ID at the cash desk). This offer is only valid directly in the museum, not for purchases in the online shop.
