Perpignan – The fire brigade brought a major fire under control in southern France, for which several campsites with around 3,000 tourists were evacuated as a precaution. The fire brigade announced that most vacationers were able to return on Tuesday night. Campers at a site devastated by the flames stayed in emergency shelters. Residents and vacationers were not injured in the fire. 17 firefighters suffered minor smoke inhalation.
