Torn catenary! Almost 300 passengers had to be fetched from the airport express FEX on Sunday evening because it might no longer continue.

According to Deutsche Bahn, the train that was on its way to Berlin broke down just before the Johannisthal S-Bahn station.

The Berlin fire brigade supported the evacuation of the train on the open route with 22 emergency services.

The passengers were taken off the train using ladders. They then had to walk to the nearest train station. Two people were then taken to the hospital with circulatory problems.

The catenary damage was repaired by Monday morning. There are no more restrictions, said a railway spokeswoman.
