30 years after its last update, co-creator of Doom II launched a new level in support of Ukraine | Technology

The 90’s shooter co-creator announced the creation of a new map on his Twitter account where he also announced that the funds raised through the game would go to humanitarian aid for the country invaded by Russia.

It was in 1994 that John Romero designed the last Doom II map, but now, speaking of the Russian invasion of Ukrainedecided to re-create a new level for the video game following almost 30 years.

The reason? Everything the money that is raised among those who acquire the new map will be donated to humanitarian organizations that help the Ukrainian people.

This was reported by co-creator the shooter nineties, John Romero, on his twitter account: “To support the people of Ukraine and the humanitarian efforts of the Red Cross and the UN Central Emergency Response Fund, I will launch a new level of DOOM II for a donation of €5began writing on the social network.

“100% of the proceeds go to these agencies. Thanks”closed the statement.

The new level, as Romero said, can be purchased for 5 euros, something like 4,400 Chilean pesos.

In order to acquire the new level the user must have a doom 2 original versionenter the website of romero.com where is a .wad file in which are all the data to install the new level.

this new map can be downloaded up to three times per purchase and is named “One Humanity”.

Doom II

Doom IIthe video game that is now going to the aid of Ukraine, is a shooter in which the player moves around the map in first person trying to annihilate his enemies.

The game is set in the planet Earth but totally destroyed by demons and evil spirits that must be fought.

The game was created in 1994 for computershowever, it can currently be found on consoles as Xbox 360 (2010) and Nintendo Switch (2019) in addition to Android and iOS mobile phones.
