After the 0-1 defeat in the top game against Admira, the pressure on SV Guntamatic Ried has recently increased again – with today’s 3-0 win against the amateur team from Sturm Graz, the Innviertel team gave the right answer.
Coach Maximilian Senft‘s team had their first good opportunity in Gleisdorf after just three minutes: Antonio Van Wyk fired up after the home team lost the ball, but his finish was too weak. In the 15th minute, the Rieders were very close to taking the lead: Mark Grosse was initially denied by storm goalie Matteo Bignetti, and the 20-year-old brilliantly parried the rebound against Oliver Steurer. The Styrian goalkeeper was there shortly afterwards: Konstantin Schopp had served the ball directly in front of the legs of the advanced Ried defender Nikki Havenaar in an attempt to clear the ball, but the Japanese’s direct shot went too centrally to Bignetti.
In a phase in which Ried had the upper hand, the Black and Whites came into real danger in front of the Ried goal for the first time: Peter Kiedl only hit the bar after a quick counterattack from a tight angle (25th).
After a good half hour, the Vikings rewarded themselves for a courageous performance: Fabian Wohlmuth had prevailed in the header duel from a long ball from Jonas Mayer, and Wilfried Eza (33′) was spot-on when he received the cross and scored to make it 1-0.
Grosse hits with a side kick
At the beginning of the second half, the Rieders were able to thank goalie Andreas Leitner for maintaining their lead: Storm attacker Kiedl had escaped the black-and-green defense, but was denied by the Ried captain from a good position (55th).
A wake-up call for the Rieders, who scored their second goal ten minutes later: Philipp Pomer served Grosse, who scored with a side kick (64th). For the Styrian native, who played for today’s opponents as a youth player, it was also a goal in his former living room: between 2020 and 2021 he played for the regional league team Gleisdorf and, with nine goals in 14 games, recommended himself for a professional commitment to the second division club Lafnitz.
The goal that made it 3-0 was at least as worth seeing: After a Mayer cross, substitute Fabian Rossdorfer handled the ball elegantly and scored for the third time for Rieder. The Vikings have returned to winning ways and can go into the international break with a complete success. In this situation, calm should return to the Innviertel: With the victory, the Ried-Kickers have nipped in the bud a recent coaching discussion about Coach Senft.
