Symptoms of flu in Brazilian national team players
Complaining of coughing and sore throat… Avoiding PCR testing
If confirmed in Qatar, self-isolate for 5 days
Reports have emerged that the Brazilian national team, the opponent of the Korean soccer team in the round of 16 of the World Cup, is evading a gene amplification test (PCR) even though three players, including key goal scorer Neymar, are showing cold symptoms.
Recently, Brazilian media reported that key players of the national team, such as Neymar, Anthony, and Alisson, showed symptoms of coughing and sore throat, but did not receive a PCR test, and the national team did not force the test.
This is because, according to Qatar’s epidemic prevention regulations, if players are confirmed, they must self-isolate for five days, so they cannot play in the World Cup finals, including the round of 16.
The Brazilian national team claims that their players’ cold symptoms are caused by the Qatar weather. In Qatar, many air conditioners were installed in the stadium because of the hot weather, and cold air conditioners blow in dry conditions under the hot sun, causing cold symptoms.
In an interview with Brazil’s ESPN, Anthony said, “I’ve been in bad shape for several days. My throat was particularly painful. I am recovering to be in 100% condition.”
However, the typical symptoms of Corona 19 are very similar to a cold, and the possibility that it was confirmed cannot be ruled out due to the nature of the World Cup, where many people gather without wearing a mask.
Korea will play Brazil in the round of 16 on the 6th. If Korea defeats Brazil, it will accomplish the great feat of advancing to the quarterfinals of the away World Cup for the first time in history.
Five players from Brazil were injured in the group stage alone, and among them, Alex Thelis and Gabriel Jesus will not be able to participate in this tournament at all. Neymar, who missed two matches in a row in the group stage due to injury, announced his participation by releasing training photos.
“Neymar and Alex Sandro have a chance to recover until the round of 16,” said Rodrygo Razmar, the team doctor of the Brazilian national team.
