Renewal is one of the concepts accompanying fashion, and it was demonstrated in all its meanings in 3 shows that caught our attention during the activities of New York Fashion Week. The shows of Michael Kors, Ulla Johnson, and Tadashi Shoji combined sophistication and elegance in an artistic style that meets the requirements of modern women in the field of appearing with a distinctive look.

Michael Kors

Michael Kors embodies the dynamism of fashion with an ever-changing New York City style. As usual, she is keen to present designs that are timeless and have both a classic and modern nature. What is new for the spring and summer season of 2024 is a group of looks that are characterized by simplicity in cuts and luxury in materials, with extensive use of lace, which takes the form of long dresses, blouses, pants, mid-length skirts, and even men’s shirts. As for the colors, they were “minimal,” with a prominent presence of white, black, and beige, in addition to shy touches of pink, lilac, and gold. The fashion was accompanied by accessories in the form of flat sandals and medium-sized bags in white, black and beige colors.

Designer Michael Kors called this collection Barefoot Glamor, in which he presented daily clothes that might be worn anywhere in the world and were reminiscent of holiday atmosphere. He revealed that it was a tribute to the spirit of his mother, who recently passed away and was an enthusiast of traveling around the world.

I. Johnson

She is one of the most prominent designers that the public follows at New York Fashion Week. Born and raised in Manhattan, Ola launched her eponymous label in 2000 straight out of college and has since caught the attention of the fashion press. She is known to pay great attention to the details of constructing her looks, and is careful to choose materials made from natural fibers. She also pays attention to the practical and comfortable nature of her fashion.

Her Spring/Summer 2024 collection was inspired by the design of circles in the fields of art, fashion, and nature. She used circles that represent the sun in many of her looks. In this collection, Ola Johnson collaborated with American artist Shara Hughes to create dynamic, colorful prints to decorate her designs, which were also decorated with ruffles and pleats. The latter also appeared on accessories, adding a touch of distinction and innovation.

Tadashi Shoji

The American designer of Japanese descent, Tadashi Shoji, launched the label that bears his name in 1982 following noticing that the options for casual clothing at that time were limited. Today, 40 years later, women in different parts of the world continue to follow Tadashi Shoji’s evening and wedding wear collections. As for his spring and summer 2024 collection, the house’s designer inspired his designs from beaches and sea caves decorated with the colors of the sunset and the movement of dancing waves. His designs are also decorated with details drawn from the world of imagination, layers and pleats that embody the beauty of shells, embroideries in marine shapes, in addition to beads and sequins that evoke the sparkle of the sun that sparkles on the surface of the sea.

The color blue, with its various shades, predominated in several designs from this collection, and others were colored with ruby, emerald green, in addition to black, white, and pink, with its various shades.
