La Vie en Slip, a story of coolness
College is fast approaching. You have known this moment! Everything changes, we feel a little bigger and our concerns change. Suddenly, we want to become cool. This is the story of our three young friends: Jipé, Issa and Pedro.
Living in a large building in the town of Bamboche, the SLIP These three endearing characters will scramble to become the coolest in school. But the path may be bumpy! Between the other students of the school (with a strong character), the prohibitions of their parents, the arrival of girls in their pre-teen life, they will have to fight to succeed in their mission.
Fortunately, with three, it’s always easier. Even if they stumble on the path to coolness, they’ll have fun no matter what! But what regarding the characters of our explosive trio?
Characters as funny as endearing
Jipé, Issa and Pedro form a very complementary band. Jipé, is the team leader. An opportunity to become cool is just around the corner? He will find at all costs a plan that can lead him to this coolness and will motivate Issa and Pedro to follow it. It embellishes reality a little sometimes, it’s true. But what do you want, you have to sell the dream!
Issa is the most reasoned of the bunch. When Jipé and Pedro prepare a plan that promises to be flawed, luckily Issa is there to put their ideas back in place. Even if, we know, it’s because he is (a little) cowardly. Apart from his assumed geek side and his great awkwardness, he is also a tender heart. He never hesitates to show great kindness.
Finally, there is Pedro! We all know one. Without him, the playground would have seemed very calm! This big dad, dreamer and head in the air, has a great quality: that of always being ready to carry out Jipé’s very ambitious plans. Build a rocket to go to the Moon using YouTube tutorials? No problem. Organize a rocking party at Issa’s by inviting only parents? No problem. You understood, with Pedro, there is no problem!
In addition to our shock trio, there are other very important characters like Wagner the school bully (but sensitive at heart) and his hound Tibia, Simone the mischievous and intrepid friend of the group, or MC Posey a international cool singing star. To our delight, the series offers a wide range of characters with well-affirmed and very endearing personalities.
From comics to TV
Life in Briefis an animated series that comes from a comic strip, in three volumes, published between 2009 and 2012. We find on the screen the caricatural and colorful pencil stroke of its author-draughtsman Steve Baker, a Rouennais who also worked on the Bots comic strip, or Axolot in collaboration with other designers.
This entire graphic universe is animated by Studio Redfrog, to whom we owe the co-production of series such as Minijusticiers, Me Elvis or Space sardine.
Finally, we find a good cast on the dubbing side with the participation of Dorothée Pousseo for the character of Simone, a flagship of French dubbing that we know in particular for her many voices in animation (Les Mondes de Ralph, Le Laboratoire de Dexter , Martin Mystère…) and famous actresses like Margot Robbie or the Olsen sisters. We also find Jhon Rachid, a talented multi-cap videographer, who lends his voice to Wagner.
