Egypt – An expert revealed the best foods and types of exercise to lose weight during menopause (menopause in women).
Menopause occurs between the ages of 45 and 55, when hormone levels in a woman’s body decrease to the point where her menstrual cycle stops, beginning a journey of exhausting symptoms, including hot flashes, insomnia, headaches, and muscle pain, as well as weight gain around the abdominal area.
Speaking to GB News, pharmacist Abbas Kanani, from Chemist Click, revealed the best habits women should adopt to lose weight during menopause.
“Eating a nutritious diet is no less important than exercising,” Abbas said. He recommended that you eat 3 foods:
– Whole grains.
– the fruit.
– Vegetables.
Examples of whole grains include: whole-wheat bread and pasta, brown and wild rice.
Abbas also highlighted the importance of exercise, saying: “Physical activity should be increased, especially exercises that can help target the abdominal area.”
The British Heart Foundation classifies exercise that raises the heart rate, such as walking, dancing, running, swimming, and even housework, as the best way to lose belly fat and body fat in general.
Getting enough sleep at night can also help support weight loss efforts, Abbas said.
