$3 billion available for innovation in Ñuble – La Discusión 2024-07-16 15:42:39

The Mining Royalty Law has allocated $3 billion in resources for the Regional Fund for Productivity and Development (FRPD) during 2024, through which the Regional Government will finance initiatives in the field of research, innovation, dissemination and technology transfer, and entrepreneurship.

The application period for interested institutions began on June 27 and will run throughout July, through the website www.goredenuble.cl, where there will also be a consultation period.

In this regard, Governor Oscar Crisóstomo explained that “these funds were known as the FIC, Innovation Funds for Competitiveness, and this year they are called Productivity and Development Funds.”

In previous calls, the authority said, “these initiatives have led us to improve, for example, the different fertilizers for the agricultural system, productivity in the forestry field; we have also had a successful experience in terms of reducing water consumption in the agricultural world. Today we have some very interesting projects in specialized technical irrigation, others in the area of ​​rice and, along with that, it has also allowed us to do research in the areas of health and education.

To finance projects through these funds, priority sectors were set for attracting investment for regional development; business development, productive promotion and productive investment; tourism and/or the environment; and energy and/or digital connectivity.
