The Directorate General of Health is launching the 2nd edition of its Public Health Thesis Prize “Policies and interventions in public health”.
This award is intended to distinguish young research whose results are particularly enlightening or promising for the implementation or evaluation of public health policies.
This year, the Prize is endowed with a sum of €10,000 which can be distributed between a maximum of 4 winners, either equitably or in decreasing order if a ranking is established between them (€5,000 for the 1st, €3,000 for the 2nd, €1,000 for the 3rd and €1,000 for the “Special Jury Prize”). This last distinction, introduced this year, will be awarded at the discretion of the jury to highlight an additional thesis which stands out in particular for its originality.
The winners will be selected on the basis of the deliberations of the jury bringing together the Director General of Health, administrative officials and high-level scientific figures.
Doctors or doctoral students wishing to compete must:
- Hold a doctoral degree as defined in Article L. 612-7 of the Education Code (practice theses are not accepted for candidacy);
- Have defended their thesis between January 1, 2023 and December 31, 2023;
- Submit all the documents indicated in the Thesis Prize regulations electronically no later than:

The prizes will be presented in spring 2024 to the Ministry of Health and Prevention.
