On the 13th, President Lee Jun-seok of People’s Power demanded that ‘Hack-gwan Yoon (a key person in the president’s side)’ run in inferior districts in the metropolitan area as a solution to the crisis situation facing the party government.
Chairman Lee held a press conference at the National Assembly Communication Hall in the followingnoon of the same day and argued, “In the end, the reason this regime is in crisis is because what Yoon Hek-kwan wants, what the president wants, and what many party members and people want do not match at all.”
In the meantime, Rep. Kwon Seong-dong, Lee Cheol-gyu, and Jang Je-won, who belonged to the People’s Power, were named as ‘Yun Hak-kwan’ and Jeong Jin-seok Kim Jung-jae and Park Soo-young as ‘Youn Hack-kwan Hosin’ respectively.
“It is no coincidence that the so-called Yoon Hee-kwan are all elected from the dominant constituency of our party,” Lee said.
Those who run for constituencies in Gyeongsang-do, Gangwon-do, and Gangnam 3 districts that can be elected only if they receive only nominations are those who have nothing to gain because of the success of the Yun Seok-yeol administration. Declare your candidacy in thirteen regions or metropolitan areas.”
This is the first time in 36 days since the party’s ethics committee took disciplinary action on the 8th of last month, that Lee took an official public position.
Regarding the party’s recent decline in approval ratings, Chairman Lee said, “People’s sentiment is leaving.” “If the message sent by the president to the floor leader is pointed at by the people, it is not a crisis of the party, but a crisis of the president’s leadership.”
Earlier, in a telegram message that President Yoon Seok-yeol shared with then-acting party leader Kwon Seong-dong and floor leader Kwon Seong-dong, he referred to himself as ‘internal general party leader’, pointing out what was exposed through media reports.
