Why does Mexico hire doctors from Cuba?
The government of Lopez Obrador Justifies the hiring of Cuban doctors with the argument that Mexico has 2.4 doctors per 1,000 inhabitants.
This index is higher than the average of 2 per 1,000 inhabitants of Latin America, but lower than the average of 3.5 of the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD), according to the National Institute of Statistics and Geography (Inegi).
