A 27-year-old woman from Zhejiang, mainland China went to Moganshan Town to experience “paraglider” on January 3 this year. She did not expect a fall accident, causing the woman to fall to the ground and die tragically. After investigation, it was found that the accident was caused by the instructor taking off. The coach and the legal person were both held criminally responsible for failing to check the safety equipment before and failing to fasten the tourists’ protective belts and leg straps to the seat bag.
According to the China Infrastructure News, a 27-year-old woman surnamed Song from Zhejiang went to Moganshan Town with her boyfriend on January 2 this year to stay at the Golden Tree Villa in Laoling Village. The next followingnoon, she went to experience paragliding. After the meter, Song Nv took off accompanied by coach Zhang.
After taking off, Coach Zhang stepped on the seat cushion of Song’s seat bag with his foot, trying to get her to sit on the seat cushion, but found that he mightn’t sit on it. At this time, the coach realized that Song’s leg strap was not fixed on the seat bag, so he pulled Song with his right hand. With the woman’s left hand, the paraglider started to deviate from the course to the east. Coach Zhang used his left hand to control the gliding direction of the paraglider, and asked Song Girl to throw away the selfie stick in her right hand, grab the right connection between the two seat bags, and once once more Try to pull Song Mouyuan up and sit on the seat cushion.
However, due to the influence of the air current, the paraglider swayed, and Song Nv was still unable to sit on the seat cushion. She clamped her body with her feet and planned to make a forced landing on the mountain. However, during the gliding process, she was affected by the airflow and the paraglider swayed. Coach Zhang mightn’t hold Song Nv, causing Song Nv to fall from the paraglider. Later, the search and rescue team found Song Nv on the mountain at 3:40 pm that day. After being sent to the hospital for rescue, she still died at 5:15 pm following the rescue failed.
The investigation team determined that the cause of the accident was that the coach surnamed Zhang violated the “Guidelines for Tandem Paraglider Pilots” formulated by the unit. Before taking off, the tourist Song Nv’s protective belt and leg straps were not fixed on the seat bag, and Song Nv was not inspected. The safety equipment caused it to fall to the ground while gliding, causing an accident. Therefore, both the coach surnamed Zhang and the legal person were investigated for criminal responsibility.
