WASHINGTON (Archyde.com) – Twenty-seven U.S. Republican senators on Wednesday urged the Biden administration to back down on the Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA) plan to cut emissions from new cars by 2032. .

In a letter, the group, led by Rep. condemned.

The EPA estimates that by 2032, electrified vehicles will account for 67% of new car sales as a result of the proposal, which was presented in April.

The Biden administration wants to expand the spread of EVs through policy measures including these regulatory measures. Environmental groups have called for stricter emissions regulations. Republicans, on the other hand, are staunchly opposed to such efforts, calling for cuts to incentives to promote EV sales.

Earlier this week, 151 Republicans in the House of Representatives, led by energy and commerce chairman Kathy McMorris Rogers, called for the EPA to repeal the proposed tightening of truck emissions regulations.
