27 people arrested: Traded over 100 kilos of cocaine – Lucerne police uncover drug ring
27 people were arrested as part of the investigation in 2021, six of them from inside the organization. The drugs were sold in at least 13 cantons.

The Lucerne criminal investigation authorities, in cooperation with the federal criminal police and the federal prosecutor’s office, have uncovered international drug trafficking. The Lucerne police investigations were mainly directed once morest a criminal Albanian group that was active in the international narcotics trade between April 2020 and March 2021, writes the Lucerne cantonal police in a press release.
Seized kilos of cocaine, heroin and marijuana
As the Lucerne public prosecutor explains, there were 27 arrests in 2021. However, these might only be communicated now. The police seized a total of 14.5 kg of cocaine, 8 kg of heroin, 3 kg of marijuana and over 30 kg of artificial drugs. In addition, suspected drug money in the amount of around 160,000 francs was confiscated.
Group was active throughout Switzerland
Those responsible imported large quantities of narcotics into Switzerland and resold them. The group acted from a Lucerne community and was active throughout Switzerland. The drugs were sold in at least 13 cantons and the drug trade was organized professionally. A total of six people (five men and one woman) from Albania were arrested in the canton of Lucerne.
The main accused might be proven to have traded around 82 kg of cocaine. His accomplice might be proven to have been dealing in 31 kg of cocaine. The criminal investigations are conducted by the public prosecutor’s office for special offences. The presumption of innocence applies to everyone.
