Apple discontinued the 27-inch iMac when it launched the Mac Studio and the 5K Studio Display. And while the company told the press that the 27-inch iMac is gone, rumors have been that the company has a new iMac Pro in development.
But that may not be the case, as according to a new report from 9to5mac, the company is not currently planning to release an all-in-one iMac larger than 24 inches in the near future.
And if the report is correct, that means we won’t see a 27-inch model powered by the M1 processor – the recently discontinued iMac still uses Intel chips – anytime soon.
And Apple is said to have no plans for a larger iMac with the M1 Pro, M1 Max or M1 Ultra processor either. We also likely won’t see an iMac with M2-powered MacBooks, which the company is expected to release later this year.
9to5mac says it got the information from the same source that told it regarding Mac Studio Pro and Studio Display before they were revealed.
