“Ecomondo”, the exhibition dedicated to industrial technologies and services for the circular economy, will open the doors of its 26e edition from 7 to 10 November next at the Rimini Exhibition Center with a new slogan: “The ecosystem of ecological transition”.
The fair dedicated to industrial technologies and services for the circular economy will take place between November 7 and 10, 2023. The event will be held at the Rimini Exhibition Center and will focus on six main themes, namely: “Waste as a resource”, “Rehabilitation of sites and soils”, “Circular and regenerative bio-economy”, “Bioenergy and agro-ecology”, “Water cycle and blue economy” and “Environmental monitoring”. According to “Italian Exhibition Group SpA” (IEG), organizers of the show, “from the recovery of waste into resources, to the regeneration of soils and agro-forestry and food ecosystems, through the energy obtained from biomass and use of waste as secondary raw materials, but also the entire integrated water cycle and environmental monitoring, protection of the seas and aquatic environments in their essential function for human food and economic activities: all of these topics will be covered during the show, where IEG will present the most innovative technologies for sustainable competitiveness to the market. This edition is the first in which Ecomondo will occupy the entire Rimini exhibition center, following K.EY, dedicated to renewable energies, gained its independence by organizing its own fair, in March”.
Two sectors highlighted
It should be noted that in addition to the six themes of the show, two sectors will be highlighted: “Water”, dedicated to water, and the new edition of “SAL.VE”. “In the first, visitors will find the entire water resources sector: from capture to restitution and reuse, with particular attention to digital transformation, which has become a key element for improving management. The main national and international public services, professional associations, including “Utilitalia”, with a program of seminars, will be the major players in this sector”, mentions IEG.
At the biannual “SAL.VE” fair, organized in partnership with “Anfia”, the main manufacturers will exhibit vehicles for the ecological services of waste collection and disposal and urban cleanliness; trials will be offered outside.
Also, “Ecomondo” will offer exhibition space to three industrial sectors to which the Italian Ministry of the Environment and Energy Security has given the green light by contributing to 160 projects deemed “flagships” for the circular economy.
By participating in this fair, visitors will be able to find the “Raee District” which will focus specifically on technologies for “repowering” and new facilities for the recycling of waste electrical and electronic appliances, photovoltaic panels and fan blades. ‘wind turbines. The facilities for the collection, logistics and recycling of paper and cardboard, in collaboration with “Comieco”, will be at the center of the “Paper District”. Finally, a thematic route will be dedicated to the production of plastics, with a focus on recycling facilities and marine waste.
Textiles, eco-design…
Still according to the organizers of the show, “textiles have been identified as a fundamental value chain, for which the European Union has planned actions aimed at promoting sustainability, circularity, traceability and transparency. Key factors are requirements for eco-design, producer responsibility schemes and labeling systems. The entire sector involved, from production to post-consumer, will be highlighted in Rimini. The objective of all the actors involved is to provide answers to these challenges, by presenting current projects and the ultimate objectives and by promoting new business models in order to define the current situation of the management of textile waste in Italian cities. A space for debate and exhibition will be provided with all the stakeholders: waste producers, managers, consortia and associations, research and development institutes, fabric treatment and recovery facilities, not forgetting the representation of the second hand”.
“Ecomondo” will also offer a dense program of conferences and conventions, organized under the aegis of the Technical and Scientific Committee in collaboration with the main institutional and technical partners of the event and the international office which includes experts from the European Commission. , the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe, the FAO, the Union for the Mediterranean, the European Economic Area…
