A 23-year-old Hungarian woman was driving her VW Golf from Uttendorf towards Braunau at around 8:10 p.m. For reasons that are still unclear, the woman lost control of her car in a slight right-hand bend. The vehicle skidded and crashed into an oncoming car driven by a 26-year-old from the Braunau district.

During the collision, the entire driver’s side of the red Honda was torn open and the vehicle’s body buckled in front of the rear axle.

The 23-year-old suffered unspecified injuries in the accident. She was taken to the hospital in Braunau. The 26-year-old driver, his 43-year-old passenger and another passenger also suffered injuries and were also taken to the hospital. The fire brigades from Burgkirchen and Uttendorf were on duty until 10 p.m.
