Mysore:The National Highways Authority of India has announced that toll will not be collected on the Mysuru-Bengaluru Expressway till March 14 as the construction of the service road is not completed. Earlier it was decided to start the toll collection from Tuesday. However, as the service road was not ready, the toll piriv was postponed due to opposition.

The 10-lane expressway has two service roads on both sides. The toll on the expressway from Bengaluru to Nidaghata in Maddur has now been fixed. Kerala and Karnataka RTCs are planning to increase ticket prices with the start of toll collection. However, with the extension of the toll, there will be no increase in the ticket price for the time being.

Reports have surfaced that the full one-way toll for cars on the expressway will be Rs 255. Toll will be collected twice. It is Rs 135 from Bengaluru to Nidaghata and Rs 120 from Nidaghata to Mysore.

Of this, the National Highway Authority has officially released only the toll rate for the Bengaluru-Nidaghata section. The toll rate has not been released because the construction of the expressway on the Nidaghata-Mysore section has not been completed. Therefore, confirmation of toll rates on Nidaghata-Mysuru section will be given only after official notification from National Highways Authority.

After the inauguration of the expressway, the National Highway Authority has decided not to allow access to two-wheelers and three-wheelers due to safety reasons. The authorities have stated that they will issue a notification soon.
