25% of women in Masdar hold supervisory positions

The Abu Dhabi Future Energy Company (Masdar) launched its annual sustainability report for the year 2022, which highlights its most prominent achievements in the field of sustainability, environmental and social practices, and corporate governance, as it announced the doubling of its production capacity in the field of clean energy, and its contributions to reducing carbon dioxide emissions within two years. And that it is moving steadily towards achieving its goals and ambitions to become one of the largest renewable energy companies in the world by 2030.

The report highlighted the significant roles played by women in the company, as it revealed that regarding 25% of women working in Masdar hold supervisory positions. As for the “Youth for Sustainability” platform, it aims to reach one million young men and women by 2030.

The company stated that its production capacity in the field of clean energy during the year 2022 amounted to 20 gigawatts, at a time when it generated 18 thousand gigawatt-hours, in addition to avoiding the emission of 10 million tons of carbon dioxide.

Dr. Sultan bin Ahmed Al Jaber, Minister of Industry and Advanced Technology, President-designate of the COP28 Conference, Chairman of the Board of Directors of “Masdar”, said: “In line with the vision of leadership in the UAE to ensure energy security, support the growth of the renewable energy sector, reduce emissions and establish sustainability, (Masdar) continues its achievements. spanning 17 years, to consolidate its position as one of the largest investors in the field of renewable energy in the world, and a major contributor to practical and realistic transition efforts in the energy sector.
