What motorway closures are currently in and around North Rhine-Westphalia?

Every week, a number of motorways in and around North Rhine-Westphalia are closed to traffic – sometimes for days. 24RHEIN shows which motorway closures there are currently in NRW and which ones are coming soon.

Complete closure of the A1 near Cologne affects traffic throughout the Rhineland

Parallel to the A59, the A1 near Cologne is also completely closed. No car will be able to cross the Leverkusen Rhine Bridge for over two weeks. The consequences are immense. Not only is the structure one of the busiest motorway sections in North Rhine-Westphalia, but the diversions of the A1 closure lead over the Rhine bridge in Düsseldorf and Cologne-Rodenkirchen, 20 to 30 kilometers away. As a result, there can be a lot of traffic jams. (os) Daily information regarding what is happening in Cologne, Düsseldorf and North Rhine-Westphalia – subscribe to our free 24RHEIN newsletter here.
