Thiruvananthapuram: The cabinet has decided to set up a financial crime unit in the police department. This section will be responsible for investigating financial crimes such as fraud, financial fraud, money laundering, breach of trust and forgery. 233 posts will be created for this section which will be formed under the Crime Branch. 226 executive posts and 7 ministerial posts will be created. The executive posts are one IG, four SPs, 11 DySPs, 19 Inspectors, 29 SIs, 73 each SCPO, CPO and 16 drivers.
Various benefits and concessions will be given to the K Phone scheme. The Right of Way (RoW) permission will be waived from departments under the State Government, lower level offices, Local Self Government Institutions, Public Sector Undertakings and other institutions. This is conditional on giving advance notice. They will also be exempted from paying off the Right of Way charges. These institutions will be exempted from submitting security deposit, bank guarantee and performance bank guarantee.
8.71 crore for Technopark
An outlay of `8.71 crore has been sanctioned for Technopark. The land owned by the Techno Park validated the lease agreement given by the Central Government to the MSME to set up a Technology Center. It has been decided to sanction the salaries and allowances of the employees of Kerala State Science, Technology and Environment Council and allied research institutes from 01.01.2016 under the 7th Central Salary Amendment.
Other decisions
The age limit for Managing Director / Secretary / Director / Chief Executive Officer in all Autonomous / Statutory Institutions and Corporations other than Public Sector Undertakings controlled by the State Government has been raised to 70 years.
The excise department will purchase 10 vehicles as part of the modernization. The government guarantee for the self-indemnification scheme in lieu of insurance for stock in the warehouses of Kerala State Warehousing Corporation will be extended for three years from April 2021.
