New cycle path, 12 new trees and construction of a roundregarding
Vienna (OTS) – In order to create a connection to the new industrial area “Industriepark Nord”, road construction work is taking place in the area of Vienna’s northern edge expressway (B8) between Hermann-Gebauer-Straße and Wagramer Straße. The City of Vienna – Road Administration and Road Construction will begin construction work on Tuesday, September 19th.
Details
A business settlement area is being opened up in the area of the northern edge of Vienna’s expressway (B8) between Wagramer Straße and Hermann-Gebauer-Straße. In order to create a safe turning relationship, a roundregarding will be created in the entrance area to the industrial park and an access road will be built. New lighting will ensure sufficient light in the company construction area in the future. In addition, 12 new trees will be planted in the project area by spring 2024. Likewise, to connect to the operating area from the Hermann-Gebauer-Straße roundregarding to the newly built roundregarding on the side of the city, an approximately 220 meter long and 5 meter wide mixed pedestrian and cycle path will be created along Vienna’s northern edge expressway.
Traffic measures
The work in the area of the new roundregarding will take place in two construction phases. In the respective construction site area, traffic will be restricted to one lane in each direction.

- Planned end of the traffic measures December 1, 2023,
