Vienna (OTS) On Tuesday, November 28, 2023, the City of Vienna – Road Administration and Road Construction will begin the construction of a structurally separate two-way cycle path on Erzherzog-Karl-Straße from Wagramer Straße to Industriestraße in the 22nd district.

Details

On Erzherzog-Karl-Strasse between Wagramer Strasse and Industriestrasse, a new two-way cycle path, around 700 meters long and around 3.50 meters wide, is being built on the side leading out of the city. This connects to the mega cycle highway on Wagramer Straße, which leads over the Danube and Leopoldstadt into the city. In addition, the intersection plateau of Erzherzog-Karl-Straße/Industriestraße/Arminenstraße will be redesigned. In total, around 15 new trees will be planted here by November 2024. The “Arminenstraße” tram stop on line 25 towards the city center will be relocated towards Wagramer Straße, opposite the stop on the outskirts of the city. A green area with trees will be created in the area of the abandoned stop. Road safety will be increased through the construction of road elevations and sidewalk extensions in the Prixgasse, Argonautenstrasse and Elidagasse intersection areas. A new road crossing for cyclists and pedestrians will be created at the Argonautenstrasse/Schrötlgasse intersection plateau. As part of the construction work, roadways and sidewalks will be renovated.

Traffic measures

Stopping and parking is prohibited in the respective construction area. A remaining lane width of at least 3.50 meters will be kept clear for vehicle traffic. All driving relationships remain intact.
