France: 22-year-old man found near his mother’s body
A neighbor heard an argument. Police found the victim with stab wounds and the son covered in blood.
The police immediately arrested the son, who was in a confused state.
A 22-year-old man was taken into custody on Sunday in Isère, suspected of having stabbed his 64-year-old mother to death, we learned on Monday from the Vienna prosecutor’s office.
A neighbour, who heard an argument between the mother and son, alerted the police, who went to the victim’s home in Roches-de-Condrieu, south of Lyon, shortly before 6 p.m., prosecutor Audrey Quey said in a statement.
The son does not acknowledge the facts
Upon arrival, they discovered the lifeless body of the sixty-year-old woman, lacerated with stab wounds, especially on the face, she said, confirming information initially made public by “The Dauphiné Libéré”.
Still present at the scene, the son, whose body was covered in blood, was immediately arrested and taken into custody for murder of an ascendant. “Clearly confused”, he does not recognize the facts of which he is accused, according to Ms. Quey. He will be presented Tuesday to an investigating judge in Grenoble with a view to his indictment.
